joy and me is a beautiful place to be.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am the Founder of joy and me. I am a passionate planner, since a very young age I have loved all things events and gathering loved ones to share good food. My career has led me through the fashion industry, into software, business management, marketing, events and cancer support. It has been a 20 year journey filled with much learning, love and growth.

In the midst of those 20 years I also learned about loss, my Mother Susan-Joy died in 2000 and my career path very quickly turned towards the charity sector. It was my way of coping, I took my event skills and turned my hand to fundraising. What an amazing experience, to utilise my skills in this way. Needless to say, the highlight of my career has been the many millions of dollars I was able to contribute to raising for the causes that had become a very real part of my life. Beyond fundraising I realised a personal dream to support those living with cancer through my work as a support program manager.

‘joy and me’ is a name that gave me goosebumps when suggested during a brainstorming session, I knew instantly that it was the one. I feel that my Mother has been the biggest influence on my life, the person I have become and the path I have chosen. My blog about event inspiration needed a name that was both special to me and that represented the JOY created through special events and life celebrations.

joy and me is a place designed to provide event inspiration, by sharing my many, many years of event experience I hope to also share the joy that comes with the delicious moments and memories created by a special event.

joy and me wants to spread beautiful ideas and images far and wide. We have a bit of a unique outlook on events in that we believe every day is cause for celebration, life is precious and time with loved ones is an event in itself so why not make the most of it?
