joy and me love a challenge, and thanks to our lovely Facebook followers we have been inspired to research a LEGO themed party for the Mum of a 6 year old boy. Children’s parties can very easily become a huge stress, expense and competition, defeating the purpose of them being a celebration of family, love and life’s milestones.
joy and me are committed to sharing cost effective, earth friendly, loved up celebration inspiration!! There are MANY event ideas out there, in fact its a crazy online world filled with every kind of theme imaginable. It doesn’t take long to become lost, disillusioned or wandering right of the track that you sat down to start on! Hopefully joy and me are able to guide you through the maze of information and pretty pictures!!
LEGO is one of those childhood memories most people treasure, joy and me had an amazing collection of all types of the wonderful, creative stuff. The idea of a LEGO themed party seems to be quite popular based on our research, we easily found loads of party ideas and products available to purchase. These are a few of our favourite finds…
A LEGO themed cake or cupcakes will add instant colour and of course excitement for the special little guests! Yes we know some of these look a little tricky however the blocks can be easily created by using a sandwich tin for the base cake and then a large muffin tin to make the tops of the blocks. A simple icing using primary coloured food dye completes the creation!
The awesome cupcake toppers we found on Etsy at Two Sugar Babies.
The blocks cake we think could be lovingly created at home is on Flickr.
Those very fancy looking cupcakes we are envious of and would love to attempt are also on Flickr.
Setting the scene right from the start is easy with a bright invitation like this one from Etsy.
These are actually very affordable, and you know they are being handmade by someone passionate about their craft!!
The LEGO website is another great resource, we found a lot of free downloads that could be used for decorating your party, printing and laminating as placemats and also as activities for the kids including colouring in.
This is a selection of the posters and colouring in sheets available for free download.
How about printing off the colouring in sheets for each guest at their place setting and then letting them colour them in to take home as a keepsake?
We also found some free stickers to download, these just need to be printed onto some adhesive sticker sheets on the home printer and they would be perfect to pop onto some little brown or white paper bags as goody bags for the guests.
Happy LEGO land creativity!!
